Kid's Achievement Report App

Koolio is an app where users can log their kid’s achievements and share them within the community. The team aimed to develop a feature called the “achievements report,” designed to enhance user engagement and retention within the Koolio app.
Given the opportunity to design this feature, I faced the challenge of creating a mini-system for design components that would visualize unique statistics about the kids, ensuring scalability for the increasing amount of achievement data logged by users over time.

A scalable system
When discussing a scalable design, it's essential to build it on a system with a set of parameters that allow components to resonate with each other seamlessly.
The solution for this project involved creating designs within a card component with defined dimensions, ensuring a consistent aspect ratio on any screen. This approach enabled the cards to stack neatly while maintaining visual harmony.

This method also suited the goal of presenting data visually with minimal text. Each card resembles an image (chart, graph, etc.) representing the data.
Modular like Lego Blocks
As previously mentioned, the card component can stack and maintain visual proportion. This feature allows the system to display cards with varying content without causing visual chaos.

Additionally, this behavior makes the card component versatile. It fits seamlessly into mobile app designs (the primary output), shared reports in PDF format, or even Instagram Stories for individual card sharing.
Data Visualization on Display
Once the system was defined, I created a set of data visualizations to display information within the card component. Following the client's request for a visual approach with minimal text, I developed simple charts and graphs inspired by classic infographic posters, which resonated well with the client.

Achieving Harmony
By implementing these approaches, we achieved a robust reporting system within the app, capable of scaling for numerous achievements logged by users. Furthermore, it seamlessly integrates into shared media formats, allowing users to share reports via PDF with family and friends or through social media platforms like Instagram Stories.
